Summary We believe a hard core fanatic [[Sephek Kalto]] of the [[Children of Auril]] is killing those who escape [[Sacrifices]]. He is a guard for [[Torgg]] caravan which is currently in [[Termalaine]]. He is very dangerous we need to get him alone or we need proof to confront him. We don't know if he is acting alone. Discovered [[Session 1]] from a guard in [[Bremen]] Killer on the loose has struck at least 3 times in [[Bryn Shander]] and [[Targos]] May have killed [[Karim Wallow]] see [[Murder of Karim Wallow]] in [[Bremen]] In [[Session 2]] [[Dzaan Odesseiron]] recognises [[Rintario]] and asks the group for help. He believes he is the next victim but doesn't divulge why. He believes [[Ice Knife Killer]] is from [[Targos]] and travels often. The killer has struck: 4 months ago dwarf glass blower Evie in [[Bryn Shander]] 3 months ago, human ship builder in [[Targos]] Halfling trapper last month in [[Easthaven]] [[Antori Wallow]] son of [[Karim Wallow]] recently Usually happen around a week after the [[Sacrifices]] [[Dzaan Odesseiron]] has been attacked twice by someone throwing an ice knife. Tenday ago stopped in [[Easthaven]] a knife was hurled towards him and he used magic to stop it. Then in [[Bryn Shander]] an attack again He saw glowing blue eyes, attacker was normal human height. Offers 50gp and will also see if he can help identify the [[Mystery Illness]] effecting [[Olivia]] He is leaving the ten towns and will be back in 6-7 days, he is out looking for [[Nass Lantomir]] and will return to [[Easthaven]] Based on the killer operating in [[Targos]] [[Bryn Shander]] [[Easthaven]] and travelling a lot he has narrowed down some possible suspects: [[Gloin Perkitt]] a gnome merchant [[Fiona the Bard]] a bard from [[Bryn Shander]], visits her friend [[Rinaldo]] in [[Easthaven]] and travels everywhere [[Imdra Arlaggath]] the militia captain of [[Easthaven]] [[Torgg]] merchant caravan, she is a dwarf, travels around. Could be someone working on her caravan. The group spend some time in [[Bremen]] working out who was here recently and could be involved in [[Murder of Karim Wallow]]: [[Torgg]] left around 5 days ago [[Fiona the Bard]] left around tenday ago Visit [[Targos]] The group heads straight to [[Antori Wallow]] to give him the bad news about his son [[Karim Wallow]]. He tells the group about [[Children of Auril]], a group of fanatics. They hold the lotteries for [[Sacrifices]]. [[Karim Wallow]]'s name was drawn in the last lottery, [[Ivan]] a member of [[Children of Auril]] came to tell [[Antori Wallow]] and said he could fix it so someone else died if he paid, he did and a poor halfling died in his place. He also tells the group about their leader in [[Targos]] [[Leita]]. [[Karim Wallow]] did not feel safe and left town around 6 days ago. The timeline ties in with someone from [[Torgg]] caravan, possibly a more hard core member of [[Children of Auril]]. When asked about the caravan he mentions a strange new human guard that [[Torgg]] has hired that doesn't feel the cold named [[Sephek Kalto]], he has piercing blue eyes matching the description from [[Dzaan Odesseiron]]. [[Sephek Kalto]] new human guard, doesn't wear a coat outside, drinks in [[The Luskan Arms]] when in [[Targos]], occasionally stays at there or with the caravan. He is our top suspect. The caravan has left towards [[Termalaine]] and [[LonelyWood]], the group decide to pursue. We find the caravan in [[Termalaine]]. [[Freida]] sneaks up to scout [[Torgg]] caravan. [[Freida]] has suspicions about [[Sephek Kalto]] since alcohol and cold didn't effect so thinks he could be undead and notices he was also not breathing. His clothing isn't from [[Ten Towns]] maybe clothing similar to sailors and [[Phenrere]]. [[Torgg]] caravan will stay in [[Termalaine]] for 4 days then travel to [[LonelyWood]] for 5 days Next morning we all scout the caravan. 5 guards in total, [[Sephek Kalto]] seems very dangerous, we don't know if the others in the caravan are in on it. [[Phenrere]] is very nervous and the group agree to go to the mine first before tackling him. [[Monsters in Gem Mine]] In [[Session 4]] [[Caelum]] speaks to him at [[The Blue Clam]] and plays dice. He lies to him about [[Bryn Shander]] stopping the [[Sacrifices]] because they are not working. [[Sephek Kalto]] says he will punish them for not worshipping [[Auril]] enough and that he loves the cold. He seems mad. [[Phenrere]] tells the group she knew him but he is no longer himself. In [[Session 6]] [[Pleic Holdir]] throws a rock at [[Sephek Kalto]] and then [[Freida]] stabs him from behind. The group piles in and slays him.
